(Turns Out Awesome) Figuring Out How To Hydro Dip A Deer Skull!
Thank you guys and gals so much for watching! It was an interesting experience trying to figure out how to get this deer skull to look awesome! I guess, at the end of the day, I really did not need to bleach it so much because I was painting it but I wanted it to be white in case any showed through. Also, letting it sit for a year was a major problem because it made the meat on it very stubborn and hard to get off. To do so, I had to boil it several times which made the bone weak. Next time, I need to do it right away I think, or at least freeze the head until I do. It smelt so bad boiling it at first with all the rotten meat lol! One interesting thing I read about was a guy that will take the skull and bury it, leaving the antlers above ground but covering them, and then when he digs it up in the spring it is completely clean. All the bugs and bacteria just eat it all off! I may have to try that sometime! Anyways, I always love seeing the finished product and how freaking cool this mount looked made it all worth it! Keep doing cool stuff and feel free to leave a comment. :)
