OHIO Early Rut Whitetail Deer Hunting

What I thought was going to be the rut here in northeast Ohio did not prove to provide very much action. That said, it was a great weekend in the woods and much was learned. Sitting in a treestand for hours on end while seeing no deer often seems like a waste of time but those little moments make it all worth it. The morning sunrise, seeing a huge buck, watching a hawk swoop down for a chipmunk. Just being an observer of the natural world for a little while does loads for the spirit and mind!
